How to use affirmations -
- Let them in deeply: The more you can take your time to let the words sink in, the better. Let the words settle in, let the images become vivid. Pause for a slow easy breath after each statement. See if you can feel the truth of these words sinking in, deep into your body....into your heart, your soul, your bones. Imagine that you are breathing them into your body with your breath. Or imagine you are drinking them in like a refreshing glass of water on a warm day.
- Find a way to practice often: Put your affirmations in a place that you can access them easily. Copy them to a notepad on your phone, or put them in your wallet. Better yet, make an audio recording and play it back for yourself during idle times, while doing chores or while falling asleep at night. If you make a recording, take your time reading the statements, and pause for at least the length of one slow breath between each one.
- Customize: Delete those that don't resonate with you, add ones that do. Make it your own.

Week 4 Alternate Set: Not looking promising
For those who are closely following their fertility rhythms, charting basal body temperatures and observing subtle signs, it often becomes evident days before the end of the cycle when the cycle is not leading to a pregnancy. When you are pretty sure the cycle is ending, it can feel pointless to hold positive images of pregnancy happening in your body. But you can never be quite certain until AF appears, so it's also not ideal to assume it's over til the strong lady sings. I've written these affirmations to help create some ease and calm through during this difficult phase.
- My longing for a child is so deep that I'm inclined to reach and grab for any shred of hope and recoil at any sign of defeat. But now is the time to accept what is, and part of that is not knowing.
- I trust that my baby will come to me at the right time.
- I don't know what my future holds but I can picture holding my baby in 37 weeks.
- At this difficult time, I can hold myself in loving, compassionate arms.
- Perhaps a new life has already begun, and tiny cells are dividing, the start of a new life growing within my nurturing womb.
- And while the curtain might close on this scene without the ending I am hoping for, strong healthy eggs are waiting in the wings for their turn to come out and play.
- I can embrace many blessings in my life as I patiently wait to meet my baby.
Cycle transition: AF is definitely coming or has arrived
For those who have been on the TTC journey for some time, the arrival of the menstrual flow can be tinged with great pain and sorrow. I believe that it is very important to take time to honor these feelings. When we let ourselves grieve we create more space for new possibilities.
- As the curtain closes on this scene without the joyful end I had hoped for, I can let my authentic feelings flow. I am in the theater of truth where all my feelings are valid.
- I can breathe into my pain and sorrow.
- I can breathe into my hope and yearning.
- When I embrace my feelings and express them freely, I feel my wholeness and my humanness.
- Placing one hand over my heart and one hand over my womb, I send loving, compassionate energy deep into my being.
- As I look to the stage, the darkness is gradually lifting, the curtains are opening, and I can see numerous bright-eyed eggs waiting in the wings, eager for their turn to come out and play in this next scene.
- I am whole, vibrant and fertile.
- I can embrace many blessings in my life as I patiently wait to meet my baby.
